Non-Traditional Oregon Elopement

These are a non-traditional and dreamy take on classic elopement photos for those who are looking for something a bit different. Every elopement and wedding I photograph, I approach by creating art centered around you. Everyone who has worked with me has been delivered a gallery that is totally unique to them and what their needs are. No two photos I create are the same. I personalize your experience by doing an intake with you after you book, which gives me insight to who you are and what you’re looking for. Then I take that and I mix it with my own dark, dreamy, ethereal, colorful style of photography and create photos which reflect you and the art that you are.

These photos were taken around the Oregon Coast on Cannon Beach near Haystack Rock. The reason why the coast is so popular to elope on is because of its stunning beauty and the fact that you do not need a permit to elope here. Unless you are bringing more than 50 guests, you can just head to the coast with your love, an officiant, and two witnesses. And because haystack rock is so massive, you don’t need to go anywhere crazy for spectacular views of it. When you go during off season which is typically October-april, like with these photos, you are met with an empty coast and exceptionally dreamy fog. I think the fog really gives the photos a delicate sort of magic and makes it feel like you are the main characters in your own vampire film. These particular photos were taken during twilight, right after the sunset. Which is probably the most romantic time in my honest opinion. You really get the best of both that way.

If you’re reading this and are hoping to elope in NJ (my home state) regulations totally depend on where you elope but 2 witnesses are also required. Luckily, I’m allowed to be one of those witnesses and I absolutely love doing that for my couples.

The last photo on here is one of my favorites — it reminds me of a painting. It’s something I’d love to hang on my wall. And that’s always my goal. Make you feel comfortable on camera, and give you unique photos that you’d love to hang up as art.

These photos are meant for elopement inspiration and were taken at Brandi Potter’s Oregon Retreat. She’s been a mentor to me for years and I’m lucky to have learned so much from her.
