Questions to ask your Photographer

Top 3 questions to ask your Elopement or Wedding photographer.

  1. Can I see some full galleries?

Any experienced photographer will be able to send you some full galleries. I think a good rule of thumb is to look at 1-2 full galleries before deciding if they’re a good fit for what you’re envisioning. While you’re looking over any photographer’s work it’s important to have an idea of what you’d like your own gallery to be made up of. Are you looking for documentary/candids or staged/traditional? Are photos of details and family and friends important to you? Every photographer has their own style and approach to photographing a wedding.

  2. Do you use back up equipment?

This is majorly important because you want your photographer to be prepared for the unpredictable. Seasoned photographers will always bring at least 2 camera bodies, a few lenses, extra batteries and extra memory cards.

  3. What is your vision for the photos? and What do you consider to be your style?

Every photographer has their own style and approach to photographing a wedding. It’s good to make sure you’re on the same page. If you’re looking for mostly candids, seek out photographers with a documentary approach.
