Poconos Summer Mountain Elopement

My best friends asked me to photograph their wedding ceremony. They had it at Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Poconos, Pennsylvania. When they asked me to photograph their wedding I was like hell yeah! Especially because Brian is a really great photographer, it definitely felt like an honor. They only wanted me to really do the ceremony part of it so I could still enjoy their wedding and be a guest. So aside from the ceremony, I took some getting ready photos of them and some of their family/friends photos. It felt like it was probably the hottest day of the summer and it was only June. But it was absolutely gorgeous and I’m grateful I got to be a part of it. Actually my boyfriend, who I met through them, is the one that married them. So it was extra fun being able to work their wedding with him. I loved being able to take photos of them on top of a mountain! And afterwards we had fun getting some silly cheesy sunset photos in. Looking back I wish I had actually taken more photos, but it’s a hard mix of experiencing something and photographing it. As a photographer it’s hard to do both. And that’s why they only asked me to do the ceremony. You’re either completely in the moment or you’re living from shot to shot. It may seem like we’re just wandering around capturing stuff but we’re really calculating our every move! I’m always planning the next shot in my head and looking for photo opportunities. Anyways, I like how these came out. I’m looking forward to doing more mountain elopement style weddings in the future.
