Offbeat, Alternative, and Unconventional Wedding Clients
why do I love my unconventional/alternative wedding clients?
And why I recently chose to sign up for a year at Offbeat Wed? For one, I feel safe there and I know my clients would too! Offbeat Wed is one of the most inclusive if not THE MOST inclusive wedding blog I have come across. They really go out of their way to prioritize diversity and inclusivity within the wedding industry. And that’s one of the biggest reasons why I became a wedding photographer. The wedding industry is a place that is still unfortunately very much lacking when it comes to queerness and diversity. I’ve also never seen anyone other than me in the industry mention poly, ace, or aro people besides Offbeat Wed. And I think that’s really cool.
feeling at home with you
We almost always have at least some of the same interests. Music, movies, anime, cosplay, art, concerts, etc. Or we just don’t really see ourselves fitting in with the rest of the wedding world. And that’s alright because you are home here!
2. alternative/non-traditional wedding photographer
There is a whole blog post detailing non-traditional wedding photography that you can read here. I prefer to do things unconventionally and if you’re here, chances are you do too. I have this vision of weddings and photography from years ago and it’s all pink, high heels, sparkles, white lace and smiling faces. I’ve never seen myself fitting into that and it’s not personally what I like to capture either.
3. unique weddings and their personal touch
Personally, I enjoy weddings that are more in tune to the people getting married and celebrating their own uniqueness.
4. I love a good DIY
There have been so many cool decorations, cakes and wedding attire that I’ve been lucky to photograph.
5. emo kid at heart
Forever will be that person who use to buy band tees at Hot Topic and you will still find me at shows on the weekend.
