Cute NJ Summer Backyard Wedding

The cutest summer backyard wedding! I loved this day so much and I especially loved working with Liana and Josh. I’m obsessed with how these photos turned out, and so are they.

If you’re looking for some inspo for a small backyard wedding, this is it! I absolutely love photographing these small intimate weddings. There’s something so special about celebrating in a space that’s familiar to you and adding DIY elements! Everyone is a lot more comfortable in a space that’s their own and you can add fun elements to it. I love the balloons that they set up from Lushra to get married in front of and the streamers that they chose to come out from. They had a photobooth set up with instax cameras and string lights. And they catered the wedding with their favorite pizza from Massa in Scotch Plains! The whole vibe feels less formal and more personal.

I understand why people have traditional weddings, but I also really appreciate weddings like these. The became a bigger thing during covid, with less people wanting to have a bigger gathering and venues cancelling on them. I really hope that these smaller weddings are here to stay and become more of a regular thing.
