Storm King Art Center
This summer I had the incredible opportunity to photograph a dream event at Storm King Art Center in New York. A Summer Night is an open air concert that took place earlier in June and mid August this year. The event is centered in the gorgeous landscape of Storm King surrounded by sculptures. Talented artists Helado Negro, Julie Byrne, and Mary Lattimore performed. There were food trucks with vegan and gluten free options, Yeah Dawg was there and Midnight Ferry. There was an art activity setup for everyone and it was different both times. The first time it was Newburgh Creates with super fun and original lego painting art and the second time there was incense creating with ingredients from Japan and flowers from storm king. It was so cool to make incense from scratch!
I would love the opportunity to photograph more events and concerts, if you know of an event and are looking for a photographer please reach out in my contact form! I will be so stoked to hear from you. Also my next dream is to photograph a couple/engagement session at Storm King or family photos. I just felt like I was at my best creative self here.
Cuties dressed up colorfully, loaves of bread on picnic blankets, bottles of wine, a surprise sunset after a rain storm. Is this what Charli xcx meant when she sang everything is romantic? haha. A Summer Night was a highlight for me this year. Being outside in the summer surrounded by great food, art, music, and art lovers. I’m so grateful and my heart is so full when I look back on it. I just love Storm King and now it’s even more special to me.
